Alessio Bogani (1977) is an Italian contemporary artist. His research is primarily expressed through drawing and painting, deliberately engaging with the concept of ritual and magical art, which has symbolic roots in prehistoric cave paintings. The themes running through his works are deeply influenced by issues of anti-speciesism, ritual art, anthropology, and architecture. His site-specific projects are developed as immersive, experiential spaces and often originate from imaginary characters - narrative tools that create and inhabit the works and spaces, taking the place of the artist.
His work was exhibited by international museums and cultural spaces including: Palazzo del Governatore (Parma, Italy), Baba Radwa (Kraków, Poland), Museo civico Palazzo Fogazzaro (Schio, Italy), European Museum of Modern Art (Barcelona, Spain), Biennale d’Arte di Venezia (Tese di San Cristoforo, Venice, Italy), Palazzina Marfisa D'Este (Ferrara, Italy), Palazzo Massari-Contemporary Art Pavilion (Ferrara, Italy), Villa Brandolini (Pieve di Soligo, Treviso), Palazzo Frisacco (Tolmezzo, Italy), Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (Palazzetto Tito, Venice, Italy), Galleria Civica di Modena - Fondazione Modena Arti Visive (Palazzo Santa Margherita, Modena, Italy), Museo di Anatomia e Teatro Anatomico (Modena, Italy), New Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), Casa Ludovico Ariosto (Ferrara, Italy), Galleria Contemporaneo (Mestre, Italy), Rialto Santambrogio  (Rome, Italy), Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts (Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republik), Complesso monumentale di Santa Sofia  (Salerno, Italy), Fondaco Marcello (Venice, Italy).
